There are some travel moments you know you’ll remember forever.
For me, one of those moments happened in Cabo San Lucas 3 days ago, when I watched my daughter put on a snorkel mask for the very first time and discover a world that had been hidden just beneath the surface of the water.
As a travel advisor, I spend a lot of time helping people plan unforgettable vacations. But this trip reminded me why we travel in the first place: the memories, the wonder, and those moments that leave you speechless.

Our Adventure Started at The Arch
If you’ve ever visited Cabo, you know that The Arch (El Arco) is one of the most iconic landmarks in Mexico.
Located at Land’s End where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez, The Arch is one of those places that looks just as incredible in person as it does in photos.
The boat ride alone was worth it.
We cruised past dramatic rock formations, sea lion colonies lounging in the sun, and crystal-clear turquoise water that looked almost unreal.
Then came the moment my daughter had been waiting for.
The First Snorkel Experience
I’ll be honest.

As excited as she was, I wasn’t sure how she’d react once it was actually time to get in the water.
Would she be nervous?
Would the snorkel feel weird?
Would she last five minutes and want back on the boat?
Instead, the exact opposite happened.
The second she put her face underwater, her entire expression changed.
Suddenly there were colorful fish everywhere.
Schools of fish darted beneath us. Bright blues, yellows, and silvers flashed through the water. She kept popping her head up just long enough to say:
“Mom! Did you see that one?!”
Then right back underwater she’d go.
Why Cabo Is Perfect for First-Time Snorkelers

One thing that surprised me was how beginner-friendly snorkeling in Cabo can be.
Near The Arch and Lover’s Beach, the water is often calm enough for first-timers to feel comfortable while still offering incredible visibility.
For families considering a Cabo vacation, snorkeling is one of those excursions that works for almost everyone.
You don’t need certification.
You don’t need experience.
You just need a mask, a snorkel, and a little curiosity.
The Best Part Had Nothing to Do With the Fish
The fish were amazing.
The views were incredible.
But my favorite part was watching my daughter gain confidence.
Travel has a way of doing that.
It introduces kids to new experiences, pushes them outside their comfort zones, and shows them just how big and beautiful the world really is.
Watching her excitement, hearing her laugh, and seeing her completely immersed in the experience made this excursion worth every penny.
Why Cabo Continues to Be One of My Favorite Destinations
Cabo offers so much more than beautiful resorts.

You can:
It’s one of those destinations that works for couples, families, friend groups, and multigenerational travelers alike.
And if you’re looking for a destination that combines adventure with relaxation, Cabo deserves a spot at the top of your list.
