Is Pixar Place Hotel Club Level Worth It? Our Honest Creators Club Review

If you’ve been researching Pixar Place Hotel Club Level, you’ve probably seen some mixed opinions about the Creators Club.

We’ve seen the Reddit and Facebook group comments saying the lounge is underwhelming, the food is basic, and the theming doesn’t compare to the Club Levels at the Disneyland Hotel or Grand Californian.

So after actually staying at Pixar Place Hotel Club Level with our two toddlers, I wanted to give you the honest answer: Was the Creators Club a five-star culinary experience? No. Was the Club Level upgrade worth it for our family? Absolutely.

And those two things can be true at the same time.

We stayed at Pixar Place Hotel for five nights during our Disneyland trip, and we used the Creators Club heavily. We ate breakfast there every morning, lunch most days, and dinner one night. We also took full advantage of the coffee, snacks and unlimited beverages.

For our family, the value wasn’t just about the food. It was about convenience, Pixar theming, drinks, breakfast, snacks for the kids, a comfortable place to sit and; perhaps most importantly, the Cast Members who got to know our family during our stay.

First: Is the Creators Club Actually Well Themed?

This was one of the biggest surprises for us. I’d read comments describing the Creators Club as basically a generic hotel lounge with some Pixar decorations. That was not our experience at all.

The lounge is filled with Pixar-themed artwork, photos, models and details, and there are some genuinely fun pieces to discover. One of our favorites was an actual snake from Jessie’s Critter Carousel tucked into one of the corners.

There are multiple seating areas throughout the lounge, so it doesn’t feel like you’re simply sitting at tables in a conference room waiting for food. There’s also a TV playing Disney content throughout the day, which was especially nice when we needed a few quiet minutes with the kids. Disney describes Creators Club as a concierge lounge featuring collaborations between Walt Disney Imagineering and Pixar, and after experiencing it ourselves, I think the Pixar theming is one area where some online reviews undersell the space.

What Is Breakfast Like at Pixar Place Hotel Club Level?

Breakfast was probably the part of the Creators Club that we used the most. And with two toddlers, having breakfast downstairs every morning was incredibly convenient.

There were the typical continental breakfast staples:

  • Cereal
  • Yogurt
  • Fruit
  • Juice
  • Coffee
  • Pastries and other breakfast items

There were also rotating hot options. Depending on the morning, we saw things such as:

  • Mini waffles
  • Egg bites
  • Hard-boiled eggs
  • Hash brown casserole
  • Oatmeal
  • Cream of wheat

It wasn’t an enormous buffet with dozens of choices, but we found plenty to make a breakfast for the four of us.

Then there was the espresso machine and yes, it deserves its own section!

If you’re a coffee person, pay attention. The Creators Club had an espresso machine that could make: Espresso, Lattes, other specialty coffee drinks. And if you are sensitive to dairy, there was oat milk available in the lounge. You could also get a to-go cup. For us, being able to grab coffee every morning before heading to the parks was a genuine perk. Don’t get me wrong I love a good specialty coffee from our favorite barista chain, but lets be honest it can get costly these day. So instead of buying separate coffees and breakfasts somewhere else, we could walk downstairs, get everyone fed, make our coffee and get moving.

Does Pixar Place Club Level Have Alcohol?

This was another surprise for us. Disney’s published Club Level description currently lists wine, beer and appetizers during the evening portion of the lounge schedule.

During our stay, however, we were able to enjoy alcoholic beverages beyond just dinner hours. There were two beer selections, several wine options and champagne available for mimosas.

For lunch or afternoon downtime, you could have a beer or glass of wine. For us, that mattered from a value perspective. We weren’t purchasing those drinks individually throughout the trip.

What Is Lunch Like at Creators Club?

Okay, let’s be completely honest. Lunch was the weakest part of the Creators Club experience. If you are expecting a full lunch buffet, you’re probably going to be disappointed. Lunch was much more of a snack/light-bite situation.

During our stay, we had things such as:

  • Chips with salsa or guacamole
  • Hummus
  • Almond butter and jelly sandwiches
  • Tea sandwiches; i.e. ham & cheese or tomato & mozzarella, or classic egg salad

There were also plenty of kid-friendly snacks available throughout the day:

  • Goldfish
  • Cheez-Its
  • Pretzels
  • M&M’s
  • Party mix
  • Popcorn

For our family, that actually worked pretty well. We were spending most of our days in Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, so we weren’t relying on the Creators Club for three full meals every day. We could stop in, grab something for the kids, have a drink, sit down for a few minutes and keep moving.

But if you’re booking Club Level primarily because you expect a substantial lunch every day, adjust your expectations.

What Is Dinner Like at Pixar Place Hotel Club Level?

We didn’t eat dinner at the Creators Club very often because we were usually in the parks. The evenings we did check it out there, offerings included things like pasta and charcuterie cups. But then we had Mexican night. And that was the night that finally made us say: Okay, we’re eating dinner here.

There were two meat options, refried beans, queso and toppings, and you could make your own: 🌮 Tacos OR🧀 Nachos It was easily our favorite evening spread. And unlike lunch, it was substantial enough that my husband and I decided there was no reason for snacks that night.

Saturday’s Lemonade 🍋 Bar Was a Fun Bonus

One of the little experiences we really enjoyed was the Saturday lemonade bar. You could make your own fancy lemonade, and they also had an aqua fresca that was especially good. These aren’t necessarily the things that are going to determine whether you book Club Level, but they’re exactly the type of small extras that make the lounge feel like part of the vacation rather than simply a hotel breakfast room.

Can You Take Drinks From the Creators Club?

Yes, and this was another really useful perk for our family. You could get a to-go cup, which meant we could grab coffee or another beverage and take it with us. They specifically stock Coke, Sprite and Diet Coke for pop, regular and sparkling water. With toddlers, these little conveniences matter. You’re already carrying a stroller, snacks, diapers, water bottles, toys and approximately 47 other things. Being able to grab a drink and go; or fill up a sippy cup with fresh water is a win.

The Biggest Value for Us Wasn’t Actually the Food

This is the part I think gets lost in online reviews. The biggest value for our family was the service and convenience. The Cast Members in the Creators Club got to know our children. They remembered them. They interacted with them. And they were incredibly helpful when we were trying to get two toddlers settled, fed and corralled during meal times. Anyone who has traveled to Disneyland with toddlers knows that getting everyone to stop, sit down and eat can be an event in itself. Having a familiar, welcoming place where the Cast Members recognized our family made a difference.

Is Pixar Place Hotel Club Level Worth It?

For our family, yes. Absolutely.

We used the Creators Club:
Breakfast:
Every day
Lunch: Most days
Dinner: One night
Coffee: Every morning
Alcohol: Frequently
Kids’ snacks: Daily

We genuinely used what we paid for. And when you factor in the cost of breakfasts, coffees, drinks, snacks and the convenience of having everything right downstairs, the Club Level upgrade made sense for us.

But I wouldn’t tell every Disneyland traveler that they need Club Level.

I would consider Club Level if:

  • You’re traveling with toddlers or young children.
  • You like having breakfast at your hotel.
  • You drink coffee every morning.
  • You enjoy wine, beer or mimosas.
  • You want snacks available throughout the day.
  • You’ll spend meaningful time or plan to nap at the hotel.
  • You value convenience more than having an elaborate buffet.

I might skip Club Level if:

  • You’re going to leave the hotel first thing every morning and return only to sleep.
  • You rarely eat breakfast.
  • You don’t care about the included beverages.
  • You’re expecting a full lunch buffet.
  • You would rather spend the upgrade cost on park meals or another experience.

Planning a Disneyland trip with toddlers?

This is exactly the kind of decision where working with a Disney travel professional can help. The “best” room isn’t necessarily the most expensive room; it’s the room and hotel combination that makes sense for your family’s schedule, priorities and budget.
